Yes-yes, you don't see anything, this is an absolutely blank canvas, shhhhh~ e v e
I know I shouldn't be submitting this, but I couldn't resist!!! I spent the last 4 days working on it and nothing else and I just wanted to share. This is actually a 3D model, rendered, lined and painted. I spent a day and a half modeling it, in Maya; one day for lining, in SAI; and the rest was shading in PS. @A@ And even though the model and lines were mirrored, the shading is totally unique for the whole thing. When I lined it and put the base colours it looked sooo stiff and boring and fake, I totally hated it. I spent quite some time finding the right colours for it as well, different kinds of shading until I ended up with something a bit more painterly because I thought it gives it more life than boring solid shadows. Then I still didn't like eeet. And I thought of just scrapping it and try to think of something else, but then I decided to try something I read in a tutorial recently, a lil tweak and... OAO It suddenly looked sooo much better! I loved it and now I feel damn proud of myself =w=b
It's supposed to be a hotel btw. But shhh, remember, you've never seen it in your lives~ e v e /

Wow, this is stunning! I love seeing 3D paint-overs. I don't know if you already did this...but did you try coloring and lighting it in Maya before bringing it into Sai and PS? That might give you a head-start trying to figure out how to tackle the palette and shading next time
But I think all your hard work paid off, because it has such a nice moody atmosphere. I'd want to explore the place!
