Ancient Anatomy Lesson by psyAlera Ancient Anatomy Lesson by psyAlera
And another anatomy lesson from me! :'D
This one is based on what I've learned at school and some of these stuff are just a translation of my notes. ;p But I added some more explanations to them to make things a bit clearer.
I have no idea if this is useful at all. To me-it's just dead facts.-lol :XD:

And- LOOOL! :rofl: Poor Elliot! XD Skye has entered evil mode here. :fuzzydemon: Oh my sweet Revenge! :evillaugh:

[c]Skye and Elliot belong to :icondeamond89: & :icon-achiru-: & :iconmangaacademy:

Oh, well, I'm no longer part of Manga Academy so I've removed some of my materials, including the mentioned lesson. I'm not sure if the group is really active at all.

TBH The lesson was bad anyways. XD

Really? they may not be active 0.o ... damn really wanna improve but have no idea how or even where to start!! >< haha lol

lol it couldn't have been that bad! I've seen your wonderful pics of art they are awesomeness!! Therefore your tutorial couldn't have been bad!
I'm lucky if one of my drawings out of a thousand or so works out!! XD

Just search for some tutorials, start by learning basic things about art and not just about a specific style like manga. ^^ You could just draw apples, for example, at first, but it doesn't matter! This would help you a lot. I saw your tonal sketches and I see that you're headed in the right direction~ I'd suggest you continue to practice with those. ^^

Thank you PsyAlera! I recently went back to drawing tonal sketches so hopefully it will all eventually work out! Thank you for all your advice! ^^

No, I got all of it. Also MOAR.

The full length of the arm (shoulder to hand) should equal about the same as your leg (top of thigh to ankle). Also! The top of your head (standing straight) to your hip, if taken off and lined up against the remaining body should equal the same - give or take a few centimeters!
That helps a lot with drawing.

I'm gonna enter MA now.

Well...there have to be some books about that, though I don't know about sites. Sorry- I can't give you more info, because I wrote this from my notes from class. ^^; And my teacher-she was telling us these things from her notes from the times when she was a student. XD So-I have no idea where they originally came from. -lol-

I answered my teacher's question three days ago, because I read this tutorial (isn't that a good coincidence?)
guess what, I understood our homework after wards and answered fluently in English (our language is tagalog not english =D)
I actually just use copy and paste when doing our researches, that is why I don't understand hehehe

Hmm... As far as I know, this be the following;

Egytians;
They actually knew how to paint/sculpt a really realistic human figure but they chose not to. Why? They use a kind of perspective called priority-perspective.
I mean, obviously we can't have the slaves painted as large as the Pharaoh! That would be blasphemous! (zomg!) The rest of the ways they pictured themselves had some symbolic reason too for what I know. I mean the part of which they paint the chest from the front but the waist from the sides. They didn't do it because they're lazy, that's for sure.
Pyramids =/= Lazy.

Ancient Greece;
They too were very skilled in the forms of shape and had almost perfected sense of proportions. Still they chose to change certain features to reach just what it becomes. Imperfection.
They can't surpass the gods, can they? I mean, just look at what happened to Babel's tower! Poking the gods in their butts aren't very smart. (lol?) Better not show them how good they were. (Ancient greek gods tended to be very jealous of humans sometimes)

Ancient Rome:
Well described. Too bad about th name though. xD Liked it.

Italian Renaissance:
Instant conclusion. Leanardo Da Vinci was a genious of no boundries.

All in all, you have my applause. ^^ I might be wrong in my statements, but atleast you are now aware of the teachings I've been taught(sp?)
